Police: Rock Hill husband, wife assaulted each other over last hit of crack
A Rock Hill husband and wife were each charged with domestic violence after fighting over who smoked the last bit of crack cocaine they were sharing, according to Rock Hill Police.
The 33-year-old woman told officers about 7 p.m. Saturday that she and her husband were smoking crack cocaine in their Riverview Road home, according to a police report. She said she left the room after taking her “hit,” and when she returned she realized her husband hadn’t taken his hit, so she tried to take the crack from him.
The male suspect allegedly threw his wife to the ground and hit her in the face, police said. The female suspect said she fled on foot to a business on Celanese Road, where she called police. She added that she smoked the rest of the crack before leaving the home.
The male suspect said he and his wife were passing the crack back and forth, and that his turn would be the last hit, the report states. He told police his wife wanted the last hit of crack so she “jumped on him, pushed him to the floor and took the last of the crack.”
He fell to the floor easily because he did not have his prosthetic on his left leg to keep his balance, the report said.
Officers determined the husband and wife were mutually combative. Each was charged with third-degree domestic violence.
