Chester teen charged with attempted murder for shooting at car
A Chester teenager was charged with attempted murder for shooting at an occupied car earlier this month, according to the Chester County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting happened about 1:15 p.m. July 6 on Elks Road in Chester, according to a sheriff’s report. One of the victims said he had just turned onto Elks Road when someone began shooting at his vehicle. Deputies found shell casings in the roadway and damage to a rear window on the vehicle.
Jarius Marquil Sanders, 17, was charged Tuesday with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Arrest warrants say Sanders fired a gun “at and into” a vehicle in which two people were seated “with malice aforethought.”
