A Rock Hill man was jailed on multiple drug distribution charges Tuesday after officers found him in possession of painkillers near a park, according to Rock Hill Police.

After receiving a call about someone buying drugs from a home on Lewis Street, officers found the suspect vehicle in a driveway and spoke to the driver, 24-year-old Joshua Dwayne Blair, according to a police report. Blair exited the vehicle, and when asked if he had anything illegal, pointed to his pants pocket and said he had hydrocodone inside.

Blair was detained and searched. Officers found seven hydrocodone pills and one oxycodone pill on him, police said. Blair said he realized how close he was to Oakwood Acres Park, and admitted to having text messages on his cellphone from other people asking him to bring them pills.

Blair was charged with possession with intent to distribute hydrocodone, possession with intent to distribute hydrocodone in proximity to a park, possession with intent to distribute oxycodone and possession with intent to distribute oxycodone in proximity to a park. He was placed in the Rock Hill city jail, where he remained Wednesday under $20,000.

The report didn’t indicate if any other people would face charges.
