Three arrested after Rock Hill drive-by shooting
Three men were charged in connection with a drive-by shooting in Rock Hill Wednesday afternoon, according to Rock Hill Police.
The shooting was reported on the 300 block of Pickens Street about 5:15 p.m. A woman standing in the roadway next to a shell casing told officers she was standing in the driveway of her home and saw a white Dodge Durango turn from Confederate Avenue onto Pickens, according to a police report. Once the vehicle was in front of her driveway, a male suspect on the driver’s side held his arm out of the window with a firearm and began firing the gun into the air.
Six shell casings were found at the scene, and two witnesses said they heard six shots and saw the white Durango with a paper tag fleeing, police said. Officers found a vehicle matching that description and conducted a traffic stop on the 300 block of South Wilson Street. The driver and two passengers were removed and taken to the Rock Hill Law Center for questioning.
Inside the vehicle, police found a Hi-Point 9mm handgun in the glove box in front of where 26-year-old Travaris Dixon was sitting, the report states. A Smith & Wesson .9mm pistol was found on the floorboard behind the driver’s seat, within reach of 30-year-old Christopher Miller, who was sitting in the back seat.
Dixon was charged with discharging a firearm in city limits, and is being held in the Rock Hill city jail under $1,092 bond. Miller was charged with discharging a firearm in city limits, unlawful carry of a pistol and possession of a stolen pistol, and is being held under $16,092 bond.
The driver, Octavious Jones, 24, was charged with discharging a firearm in city limits and driving under suspension, and is being held under $1,745 bond.
