Man killed in Chester County shooting, sheriff and coroner say

A person was killed Tuesday night in a shooting in Chester County, officials said.

The fatal shooting happened around 9 p.m. on Stepping Stone Drive near Armory Road, Chester County Sheriff’s Office officials said in a statement released on social media.

The victim was identified as William A. Colvin, 27, of Chester, said Terry Tinker, Chester County Coroner.

Colvin died at Medical University of South Carolina-Chester hospital after he was shot, officials said.

The area of the shooting is north of the city of Chester. Deputies are investigating, the sheriff’s office said in its statement.
