A Rock Hill woman is charged with homicide by child abuse after a baby was delivered dead, court and jail documents show.

Shannondoah Tiffany Harris, 25, allegedly used fentanyl and methamphetamine during her pregnancy, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office arrest warrant obtained by The Herald. The baby was delivered deceased, according to the warrant.

The warrant alleges Harris showed an “extreme indifference to human life.”

Deputies used medical records, toxicology results and other materials to establish probable cause for the arrest, the warrant states.

The case remains under investigation, said Trent Faris, spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is approximately 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 times more potent than morphine, according to the federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Harris remains in the York County jail without bail after an initial court appearance following her arrest, records show.
