Death investigation ongoing after man killed in shooting in Chester SC, officials say
A South Carolina man was killed Sunday in a fatal shooting in Chester, according to officials.
The incident happened on Saluda Street north of downtown Chester, according to a Facebook statement from the Chester Police Department.
The person who died was identified as Darion A.A. Jones, 22, of Chester, said Terry Tinker, Chester County Coroner.
Jones died at the scene after 3 a.m. Sunday, Tinker said.
Chester Police Department Chief Curtis Singleton told the Herald Monday the investigation into the fatal shooting remains ongoing.
No other details have been released.
The Chester County Sheriff’s Office and State Law Enforcement Division are working with the police department on the investigation, Chief Singleton said.
