A York woman faces assault charges after she allegedly dropped her sister on her head during a fight in the street over money, according to York police.

Bianca La-Shay Isom, 25, was charged with second-degree assault and battery after the incident Saturday afternoon.

Isom’s 22-year-old sister and mother were standing with several other people on Center Street around 1:30 p.m. when Isom approached. Isom’s mother later told police “she knew there would be trouble” because she believed Isom had been “drinking and doing drugs for the past while,” according to the incident report.

Isom demanded money from her sister, who denied owing Isom any money. The other witnesses told Isom to leave before she got into a fight with her sister. Isom reportedly picked her sister up and dropped her to the ground, where the sister struck her head on a stump. Isom then left the area.

An officer was called to Center Street and reported that the sister “was in extreme pain and was unable to talk with (the) officer much,” but did say Isom dropped her on her head.

When police located Isom, she told them her sister hit her first and owes her $40. She reportedly admitted to the officers she dropped her sister on her head. The incident report notes Isom appeared to be under the influence and “was not in her normal state of mind.” Isom reportedly admitted she had been drinking prior to the incident.

The sister was transported to the hospital for treatment, and Isom was taken to the York County Detention Center.
