Lancaster sheriff: Robbers who shot man may have have committed other robberies

Investigators say four men who shot a customer during an attempted armed robbery at a Lancaster County convenience store are also responsible for other robberies in the area.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the shooting at a Pageland Highway store on July 12. Working with other agencies, investigators say the same suspects are believed to be behind other armed robberies in recent weeks in Pageland and Monroe, N.C.

Around 4 p.m. July 12, four men entered the M&R Mini-Mart near the Chesterfield County line. The robbers shot a 67-year-old man and then fled in a silver Kia Soul without taking anything from the store.

The gunshot victim was transported to an area hospital.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the armed robbers. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call 283-3388, or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC (274-6372). Tips can also be emailed or texted anonymously to www.midlandscrimestoppers.com.
