Report: Man gave ‘suspicious’ story to Rock Hill police about severed finger
A man cut off one of his fingers early Sunday and was holding the severed digit when officers arrived, Rock Hill police said.
Officers received a call at about 2:30 a.m. about a person who had cut off a finger at an apartment just off India Hook Road, according to a police report. They found the 32-year-old victim holding his severed finger in his uninjured hand.
“He told officers that he fell and cut it off on something on the ground,” the report states. “The cut appeared to be an even cut, and likewise appeared to be suspicious (and) not consistent with his story.”
The man was intoxicated and uncooperative with officers, police said. He would not give his name or address and became belligerent when asked.
The report does not indicate whether EMS was called, and no charges were filed. The case was administratively closed.
