Rock Hill man arrested after $3K in jewelry, other items stolen from parking lot
A Rock Hill man was arrested Tuesday after police tied him to the theft of almost $3,000 worth of jewelry and other items from cars in a business parking lot, according to a police report.
Michael Anthony Lago, 27, was arrested the day after the break-ins were reported and charged with breaking and entering an automobile and grand larceny.
A $2,000 diamond wedding band was the most expensive item taken from two vehicles that were broken into on Northpark Drive. A $300 woman’s purse containing $100 cash and other documents, and a sterling silver man’s wedding band valued at $200 were reported missing from the same car.
A second car at the scene also was broken into and a $300 camera stolen.
Rock Hill police reviewed security camera footage from the scene and later arrested Lago at the Econo Lodge on Riverview Road.
