Driver found asleep in Rock Hill drive-through line charged with DUI
A woman found slumped over and asleep at the wheel of her car in the drive-through lane of a Rock Hill fast-food restaurant was charged with driving under the influence, according to Rock Hill police.
A caller reported a woman asleep in her vehicle at the Burger King on Cherry Road just before midnight Tuesday, according to a police report. Officers found the woman slumped over in the driver’s seat of a Ford SUV with the engine running and the vehicle in drive.
Police were able to wake the woman and get the vehicle in park. They could smell alcohol as the woman stepped out of the car, the report states. She admitted to drinking alcohol before driving, and agreed to sobriety testing.
The woman was charged with DUI after failing multiple tests, police said. She provided a breath sample that yielded a .12 percent blood-alcohol content. The legal limit is .08 percent blood-alcohol content.
