3 jailed, 1 sought in Lancaster attempted robbery

Three men have been arrested and a fourth man is being sought in connection with an attempted armed robbery at a Lancaster store earlier this month during which a customer was shot, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

Jerfrontys O’Bryan Clyburn, 20, of East Maynard Street in Pageland, was charged with attempted armed robbery and attempted murder. He was placed in the Lancaster County detention center, where he remained Thursday evening.

Isaac Izail Long, 26, of North Secrest Avenue in Monroe, N.C., and Detrez Lamar Timmons, 19, of Union Street Apartments in Wingate, N.C., also were charged with attempted armed robbery and attempted murder. Both were arrested in Union County, N.C., and remain incarcerated there.

Investigators say four men entered the M&R Mini Mart on Pageland Highway in an apparent robbery attempt on July 12. One of the suspects fired a gun, striking a 67-year-old customer in the store.

The suspects fled in a silver sport utility vehicle without taking anything, deputies said. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment.

A fourth suspect has been identified, and the sheriff’s office has obtained warrants for his arrest. Lancaster County investigators worked with police in Pageland and Monroe, N.C., where other robberies have happened that authorities believe are related to the Lancaster incident.

Sheriff Barry Faile expressed relief that the suspects are behind bars.

“Our investigators and the investigators from the other involved agencies worked really hard to solve these cases,” he said. “Information obtained during the investigation led us to believe that these were gang-related crimes, and we are thankful that these three suspects are off the streets, and we will not stop until the fourth suspect is arrested.”
