Rock Hill man accused of stealing from neighbor’s home
A neighbor called Rock Hill Police when she noticed a suspicious person moving things out of the house next door.
The caller gave police a description of the man and said she believed he lived just a “few houses away” on McDow Drive, according to a Rock Hill Police report.
Officers found John Barron, 68, at his home wearing the same clothes as the alleged burglar and matching the description.
Barron told police the homeowners were in the process of moving and gave him permission to take things. He said he only took items that were outside the home.
However, the homeowner said the items — including a white table police found at Barron’s home — should have been in the living room of their secured house, a report states. Barron is also accused of removing a tool box, appliance dolly and step stool from inside the home.
Barron was charged with second degree burglary.
