Rock Hill man who made video of child sex abuse gets 25 years in prison
A Rock Hill man who took videos of himself sexually assaulting a child during years of abuse starting when the child was 7 years old has been sentenced to 25 years in prison, according to prosecutors and court records.
Anthony Thomas Moore, 42, also made a video of himself and the victim where the child is made to be his “slave” and he refers to himself as her ”master,” 16th Circuit Assistant Solicitor Alex Harper said.
Moore pleaded guilty Thursday in York County criminal court at the Moss Justice Center to second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor in a plea agreement for the 25-year sentence, according to Harper and court documents.
The abuse went on until the victim was 14 years old, Harper said. He described the victim as “an extraordinary survivor.”
“The citizens of York County are safer because we no longer have to walk the same streets as Anthony Moore,” Harper said after court.
The Herald does not identify survivors of sexual violence or report where they live. Moore is an acquaintance of the victim’s family, Harper said.
Rock Hill police and York County Sheriff’s Office deputies found videos of sex acts with the victim and other pornography during a search of Moore’s electronics, Harper said.
Moore has been jailed without bail since January 2024. He must register as a sex offender after his release from prison.
