Rock Hill accountant stole $3 million over 20-year fraud. 71-year-old sentenced to prison
A Rock Hill accountant who stole more than $3 million from her employer over 20 years has been sentenced to two years in federal prison.
Christina Stevens Gregory, 71, took $3.3 million while working as an accountant at Industrial Test Systems Inc. from 2004 to 2023, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorneys Office in Columbia and federal court documents.
Judge Mary Geiger Lewis sentenced Gregory Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Columbia after Gregory pleaded guilty in March to wire fraud.
Gregory deposited checks payable to the company into her personal bank account before the scheme was uncovered, records show. A federal grand jury indicted Gregory in January of 2024 after an investigation by the FBI and Rock Hill Police Department.
Judge Lewis also sentenced Gregory to three years of supervised release after her prison stretch. The judge ordered Gregory to pay the company more than $2.2 million in restitution.
Gregory was not taken into custody after sentencing Tuesday, court documents show. She will report later to federal prison, according to Veronica Hill, spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s office in Columbia.
It remains unclear when Gregory will start her prison stretch or where she will be housed.
