3 pounds of meth: SC man’s drug bust yields fentanyl, crack and guns, too

Lancaster County Sheriff's Office

A South Carolina man faces drug trafficking and weapons charges after three pounds of methamphetamine, crack cocaine and guns were found in his home Wednesday after a yearlong investigation, officials said.

Lonnie Rojohn Crawford Jr., 27, is jailed without bail after the raid at the Oakridge Road house carried out by Lancaster County deputies, SWAT, Homeland Security agents, and SLED.

Sheriff Barry Faile said the investigation and arrest ruptured the drug pipeline in area communities. He vowed to keep arresting drug dealers while working with state and federal agents.

“We will continue to build cases like this, enlist the help of our partner agencies, and put people in jail who sell drugs,” Faile said.

The amount of meth found carries a mandatory 25 years in prison for a conviction under South Carolina law.

Meth is an addictive stimulant that affects the central nervous system, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is approximately 50 times more potent than heroin and is addictive and potentially lethal, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Police made controlled buys from Crawford four times in the past year before finding the massive haul of drugs, said Doug Barfield, spokesman for the sheriff’s office.
