Rock Hill woman, 41, killed in shooting. SC man jailed on murder charge

A South Carolina man has been charged with murder after a woman was killed in a shooting near Rock Hill on Wednesday, York County sheriff officials said.

William Gatlin Robinson, 35, of Clover, also faces two weapons charges, records show. Elizabeth Bolin, 41, of Rock Hill, died at a hospital after being shot on Mandarin Drive southwest of Rock Hill on Wednesday morning, York County Coroner Sabrina Gast said.

The shooting happened after an argument between the two escalated, Sheriff Tony Breeden said in a statement.

Robinson allegedly shot Bolin with a handgun, according to arrest warrants obtained by The Herald.

It remains unclear what the relationship was between Robinson and Bolin. No other details have been released as detectives continue the investigation.

Robinson remains in the York County jail without bail.

The homicide was the seventh in York County sheriff jurisdiction in 2025.
