Man shot near neighborhood park early Monday

A man was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after being shot near a neighborhood park early Monday morning, Rock Hill police said.

The shooting happened about 12:50 a.m. in the 200 block of North Jones Avenue, near Highland Park, according to a police report. Three shell casings were found in the park.

The male victim was found in the front yard of the home across the street from the park with two gunshot wounds. He was taken by ambulance to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, and his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

No arrests have been made, and there was no indication of what led to the shooting. The shooting remains under investigation.
