A South Carolina man has been arrested after giving a minor girl a tattoo and marijuana and touching her inappropriately, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were alerted in October about the 15-year-old girl receiving the tattoo. It is illegal under South Carolina law to give anyone under age 18 a tattoo.

After a two-month investigation by a unit that handles crimes against children, deputies arrested Dusty Lewis Faile, 39, on Friday on charges of tattooing a person under 18, first-degree assault and battery, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, said Doug Barfield, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

Officials did not release how the girl came into contact with Faile.

During a search Friday by deputies, the State Law Enforcement Division, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, officials seized a tattoo gun and other accessories, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office. Officers also found more than four grams of what is suspected to be methamphetamine and marijuana, the sheriff said. Faile was also charged with possession of both drugs with intent to distribute.
