Rock Hill man arrested in Fort Mill Burger King armed robbery, kidnapping

A Rock Hill man has been arrested on kidnapping and other charges in an armed robbery at a Fort Mill Burger King.

Dequinton Davion Walker, 24, is in the York County jail after the morning robbery Dec. 4 at the restaurant on U.S. 21 near Interstate 77 Exit 90 close to Carowinds, the York County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Walker sprayed the restaurant surveillance cameras before demanding the manager open the safe, sheriff’s office spokesman Trent Faris said. Walker got around $200 before fleeing, according to the sheriff’s office.

No one was hurt.

At the time of the robbery, deputies said the suspect wore a ski mask . The sheriff’s office did not provide further information about what evidence they have against Walker.

In addition to armed robbery and kidnapping, Walker faces burglary and weapons charges, according to the county jail website.
