A South Carolina man has been arrested on a murder charge after a fatal shooting Thursday night in Lancaster, officials said.

Korickio Cunningham, 29, of Lancaster, also faces a weapon charge after he was taken into custody Friday afternoon, the Lancaster Police Department said in a statement.

Jarvis Shannon, 38, also of Lancaster, died at the scene on Hughes Street, according to police and the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office. He was found in a yard a few blocks from the Lancaster Police Department.

The homicide is the second in Lancaster County in the first two weeks of 2026, after a Charlotte man was arrested on a murder charge in an Indian Land shooting last week.
