Rock Hill ambulances damaged after ‘foreign substance’ put in fuel tanks

Someone caused more than $2,000 in damage to two ambulances after putting an unknown substance into the fuel tanks, according to Rock Hill Police.

The shift supervisor at Palmetto Ambulance on Thursday told officers someone put “a foreign substance” in the fuel tanks of two ambulances, causing the engines to malfunction, according to a police report. The incident happened between midnight and 4 a.m.

The exact monetary damages are unknown, but the shift supervisor said they will be more than $2,000.

No arrests have been made, and the report did not indicate any suspects.
