Rock Hill house, car riddled with bullets in drive-by shooting

Two bullets that pierced a Rock Hill home early Thursday were from a drive-by shooting targeting a vehicle outside the house, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.

The owner of the Mt. Holly Road home told deputies she heard gunshots just before 2 a.m. Thursday, according to a sheriff’s report. She went into her living room and saw a bullet hole in the wall and a bullet in the television.

Deputies found two bullet holes on the front of the house, and one bullet apparently traveled into a bedroom and struck a mattress, the report states. The deputies were informed by Rock Hill Police that a car had been shot at outside the home, and the bullets that hit the house were missed shots. They found seven shell casings in the roadway in front of the house.

The man whose car was shot at told Rock Hill officers he was traveling down Mt. Holly Road toward Interstate 77 when a dark colored sedan with two or three men inside pulled up next to him. The victim said someone in the other car shot at his vehicle, and he returned to his home in Rock Hill and called police.

Officers noted a bullet hole in the driver’s side door and two holes in the windshield.

No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made.
