A Rock Hill woman defrauded the Department of Social Services of more than $8,000 in food stamp benefits by not including her husband and his income during re-certification, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.
Daisie Hayden, 38, of Red River Road, was charged this week with one count of fraudulent acquisition or use of food stamps more than $2,000 but less than $10,000.
York County DSS certified Hayden to receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, benefits based on the information she provided on six mailed re-certification forms she submitted between November 2011 and May 2014, according to an arrest warrant. While receiving the SNAP benefits, Hayden failed to include her boyfriend and his income in the household, even after they married in September 2013.
The warrant states Hayden defrauded DSS of $8,250 in benefits during that time period.
