A Rock Hill man is accused of sexually propositioning a minor online.
Timothy Alan Oertel, 26, was arrested by the state Internet Crimes Against Children task force after an investigation initiated by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, according to the state’s Attorney General’s office.
Investigators say Oertel contacted the underage victim through social media and sent sexually explicit photos and messages. He was arrested Thursday and charged with criminal solicitation of a minor and four counts of disseminating obscene material to a minor, a press release states.
Each count carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. Oertel’s bond was set at $25,000.

Investigators were assisted by the York County Sheriff’s Office, which is also a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children task force.
Oertel’s case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s office. His booking photo is not available.
