Report: Rock Hill woman claims voodoo ‘root’ curse put on her

Deputies in York County this week responded to complaint by a woman that a man had allegedly threatened and harassed her by putting a “root,” or voodoo curse, on her.

The woman, 60, told officers that a man, 61, came to her home making threats, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report.

Officers spoke to another woman who said that the man, purportedly ill, came to her house and alleged that the first woman had put a “root” on him. The second woman also claimed to police that the man, using a “root doctor,” put a “root” right back on the alleged victim.

The woman making the report told police she wanted documentation in case of future problems. Deputies found no harassment and closed the case, the report states.
