Police: Rock Hill man tried to flush 150 grams of marijuana
A Rock Hill man was jailed on drug charges Tuesday after being accused of trying to flush more than 150 grams of marijuana down a toilet, law enforcement records show.
Montrece Shajuan Kennedy, age 21, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and taken to the Rock Hill city jail, where he remained Wednesday morning under a $5,000 bond, authorities say.
Officers say they were first called to Cypress Point Drive late Tuesday in reference to someone on a motorcycle driving “loudly” for nearly two hours. A person called 911 to say the motorcycle was later parked behind a home on the 1300 block, and said a man and woman were riding recklessly around the apartment complex, according to a police incident report.
Officers knocked on the door of the home and a man responded, asking who it was, the report states. Police identified themselves and continued knocking for a few more minutes.
A woman eventually answered the door, at which point officers allege they smelled burnt marijuana in the home. She allowed police to come inside, where officers detained several people inside the home, the report states.
After gaining consent to search the home, police found about 156 grams of marijuana in the toilet bowl of the master bathroom, the report states. An officer seized the marijuana, according to police.
Officers allege Kennedy told them the marijuana was his.
He said he “was holding it for someone” and he tried to flush it, officers wrote in the report. Kennedy is also accused of having about 2 grams of the drug in his pocket.
