Police: 2 teens tried to break into car while owner was sitting inside

Two teenagers were charged after they tried to break into a vehicle while the owner was sitting in the driver’s seat, according to Rock Hill Police.

A caller reported two male suspects trying to break into a vehicle on the 1200 block of Eisenhower Road about 8:15 p.m. Monday, according to a police report. Officers located the boys, ages 15 and 16, walking up Bradley Street along with a third person.

The victim said she was sitting in the driver’s seat of her vehicle when the passenger door opened and she saw the two juveniles, police said. She told officers the suspects “looked surprised to see that she was in her vehicle, then slammed the door and fled the scene.”

A witness corroborated the victim’s story. The victim identified the boys found walking on Bradley Street as the ones who tried to enter her vehicle.

The two suspects were taken to the Rock Hill Law Center, where they were each charged on a juvenile summons and released to a parent.
