A woman was arrested after police say she was intoxicated while walking around the PetSmart in Rock Hill with a child.

An employee at a store on Hospitality Drive told officers Thursday that she saw a woman get out of a vehicle with a child and enter the business, according to a Rock Hill police report. The woman smelled of alcohol, was stumbling around the store and slurring her words.

Officers saw the woman stumbling around the store and slurring her words while talking to her child, police said. She was “very slow” to speak, and when asked for ID, skipped over her license several times while looking through her wallet, the report states.

Lisa Elaine McGavock, 51, of Mt. Gallant Road in Rock Hill told officers she takes medication for previous back injuries. The report doesn’t indicate her relationship to the child, but says the boy was released to his mother on the scene.

McGavock was charged with unlawful conduct toward a child and placed in the Rock Hill city jail, where she remained Friday under $4,000 bond.
