Drugs in Fort Mill motel room net deputies 3 arrests
Three North Carolina residents were jailed on drug charges this week after someone reported the smell of marijuana coming from a Fort Mill motel room, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the third floor of the Motel 6 on Foothills Way about 4:15 p.m. Sunday, according to a sheriff’s office incident report. Two people inside room 314 gave deputies permission to search the room, the report states.
Inside, deputies say they found 0.3 grams of heroin, 3.5 grams of methamphetamine, 1 gram of marijuana and more than $1,000 cash. Garrett Brooks McGuire, 28, of Charlotte, was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin-second offense, possession of methamphetamine-second offense and obstruction of justice, law enforcement records show.
McGuire is accused of destroying some of the drugs, according to deputies. He was taken to the York County Detention Center, where he remained Wednesday under $50,000 bond.
Deputies allege they found 0.8 grams of meth and 0.3 grams of heroin on Michelle Theresa Conboy, 29, of Cornelius, N.C., according to the incident report. Conboy was charged with possession with intent to distribute herion-first offense and possession of methamphetamine-first offense, the report states.
Authorities charged a third person, Trevor Porrata, age 19, of Pineville, with first-offense possession of heroin after allegedly finding a syringe in the motel room bathroom, records show.
Conboy and Porrata were also jailed but had been released by Tuesday afternoon.
