Rock Hill woman accused of assaulting girlfriend with folding table

A Rock Hill woman was transported to a hospital after police say her girlfriend struck her in the head with a folding table.

The incident happened about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at a home on Beckham Lane, according to a Rock Hill police report. The woman who answered the door for police had a “large” wound on her head that was “bleeding profusely.”

The 27-year-old victim told police said she and her girlfriend got into an argument that escalated to a physical altercation in the living room. After hitting the victim in the head with a hard object, police say the suspect called an ambulance and then left the home.

Officers determined the weapon used was a gray folding table in the living room that had blood splatter on the front of it, the report states. The victim was taken by EMS to Piedmont Medical Center for treatment.

An officer later spoke by phone with the suspect, who said she acted in self-defense but couldn’t give a reason for leaving the scene before police arrived or not answering the officer’s first call, the report states. She did not wish to meet, and was advised to turn herself in.

Police have warrants charging the suspect with second degree assault and battery.
