Authorities arrested two men late Saturday night after an armed robbery at the Mayflower seafood restaurant on Celanese Road in Rock Hill, police records show.

Officers say they received a 911 call around 8:45 p.m. Saturday in reference to two suspects wearing bandannas attempting to get money from the cash register. Employees told police the two men pointed guns at them, demanded cash and then fled the store after restaurant worker took the cash register key and ran outside the business.

The York County Sheriff’s Office and a K-9 unit responded, along with Rock Hill police officers. While searching the area around the restaurant, officers say they spotted two men walking around a line of bushes and crawling into a home through a window, according to a police incident report.

Police then arrested the men – Austin Drake Baucom, 17, and Ladarius Daquon Barnette, 19 – in connection with the robbery, the police report states.

Rock Hill officers allege the guns used in the robbery were previously reported stolen. Both weapons were recovered, police say.

Baucom and Barnette were each charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a stolen pistol, according to Rock Hill Police records.

It appears no one inside the restaurant was injured.
