A Rock Hill man was charged with attempted murder after, police say, he ran his pickup onto a sidewalk and struck a man on a bicycle.

Kenneth Richard Vinson, 26, is charged with attempted murder and obtaining property by false pretenses valued at more than $10,000, according to jail records. He was booked into the York County Detention Center on Friday, and remained there Tuesday under $57,600 bond.

The incident happened last week on Annafrell Street in Rock Hill, according to a Rock Hill police report. The victim said Vinson drove a silver 2005 Dodge Ram pickup onto the sidewalk and struck him on his bicycle.

The victim was transported by EMS to Piedmont Medical Center.

It wasn’t clear if or how Vinson and the victim know each other, or what Vinson’s motive was, but a Rock Hill Police spokesman said detectives determined Vinson “deliberately” struck the man.
