Man shot in car, killed in Lancaster; 1 suspect arrested
Deputies in Lancaster County have arrested one man in connection with a fatal shooting Wednesday afternoon.
The shooting happened at the intersection of Old Landsford Road and Memorial Park Road shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday, said Doug Barfield, spokesman and attorney for the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies discovered a man deceased from a gunshot wound at the scene, sitting in a stationary Chevrolet Malibu in the road at Memorial Park Drive.
Deputies quickly located and arrested a suspect was quickly nearby. By 1:50 p.m., the alleged shooter, Danielle Lamar Peay, 28, of Old Greenbriar Drive, was found in a house within walking distance of the shooting scene, Barfield said. He has been charged with murder, attempted murder and firearms charges. He was being held at the Lancaster County Detention Center.
Investigators are not currently looking for any other suspects.
The shooting victim was not immediately identified Wednesday. The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office has scheduled an autopsy for Friday.
