Police: Tega Cay teen charged with peeping Tom secretly filmed teen neighbor
A 17-year-old was charged with peeping Tom after filming another teen through his bedroom window and showing it to students at Fort Mill High School, according to the Tega Cay Police Department.
Tega Cay officers last week were told that the suspect was “showing pornographic type pictures and video” to other students at Fort Mill High School, according to a police report. An investigation revealed videos and photos of the victim taken by the suspect at the victim’s home in Tega Cay.
The report indicates that the victim and suspect are both 17 and live on the same street. The suspect told officers he was walking down the street during the first week of August and noticed the victim in his bedroom, at which point he went onto the property and took pictures of the victim in his room.
Investigators obtained statements from Fort Mill High students who said the suspect showed the videos and photos at school, police say. The suspect was charged after turning himself in to Tega Cay officers Monday.
A spokesperson for the Fort Mill School District said she cannot comment on whether any discipline action was taken against the student, and added, “It’s a police matter at this point.”
