Gunman sought in Rock Hill gas station armed robbery
Rock Hill Police are searching for a man who robbed a gas station at gunpoint Tuesday evening.
The robbery happened about 7:20 p.m. at the Valero gas station on South Anderson Road, according to a police report. The cashier told officers a man walked in, purchased a cigar and when the cash register was open, demanded money.
The clerk told the suspect there was no money and that he needed to leave, police said. The suspect then put a black handgun on the counter and threatened to hurt the cashier if he did not surrender the money.
After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the gunman fled in a dark blue or black Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling toward Interstate 77, the report states. Investigators say they will have surveillance video to release later.
