A Rock Hill man was jailed on marijuana distribution charges after a traffic stop for tinted windows earlier this week, according to Rock Hill Police.

Christian Nunez, 19, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, driving under suspension, improper lights and tint law violation, police say. He was placed in the Rock Hill city jail and released under $7,275 bond.

An officer on patrol on Black Street saw a white Honda Accord with tinted windows that didn’t have stickers of compliance, and turn signals that had been altered with tint, according to a report. Officers arrested Nunez after a records check revealed he had a suspended license.

While handcuffing Nunez, officers noticed he smelled like marijuana, police said. He told police the house he was coming from had marijuana in it. Officers asked if there was any marijuana in the car and Nunez told them they could not search it.

Officers put Nunez in a patrol car and searched the vehicle, the inside of which smelled strongly of marijuana, the report states. They found a plastic bag filled with marijuana, plastic bags and a digital scale, all of which was inside a tin container in the car.

The marijuana weighed about 13 grams, police said.
