Two jailed on drug charges after Rock Hill shoplifting attempt
Two people were arrested on drug charges Saturday after one of them tried to shoplift from a Rock Hill store, according to Rock Hill police.
A man tried to shoplift from the Home Depot off Cherry Road at about 10 a.m. Saturday, according to a police report. The store declined to press charges against James Todd Sharman, 47, and an employee told officers Sharman was out in the parking lot with a woman.
Sharman was trying to jump-start a car and “appeared nervous” when asked if he had any weapons on him, police said. He had a knife clipped to his pocket and gave officers consent to search him.
An officer found a small plastic container with about a half-gram of heroin in one of his pockets, the report states. Inside the car, police found 9.4 grams of methamphetamine, several driver’s licenses belonging to different people, a check book, tools and jewelry, according to the report.
Sharman was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute heroin within proximity of a school, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine within proximity of a school. He remained in the York County Detention Center on Monday under $24,000 bond.
Shannon Ashley Moss, 25, of Fort Mill, was charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine in proximity of a school. She remained jailed Monday under $12,000 bond.
