Suspects sought in Rock Hill gas station assault

A man was assaulted by three men in the parking lot of a Rock Hill gas station Saturday, police say.

The incident happened about 1:10 a.m. Saturday at the 7-Eleven on Oakland Avenue, according to a Rock Hill Police Department report. The victim said he was sitting in a vehicle talking with a woman when her boyfriend pulled up in a vehicle with his brother and another man.

The suspects dragged the victim out of the vehicle and began hitting him with their fists, police say. Surveillance footage shows the attackers fleeing when the store clerk called 911.

The victim believes he was set up to be attacked, police said. He was transported to Piedmont Medical Center.

No arrests have been made.
