Police: Drunken driver crashed truck in York Tech pond

Police charged a man with DUI and open container violation Wednesday night after finding his truck in a retention pond on the campus of York Technical College.

Rock Hill officers went to check on a reported collision at about 7:45 p.m. and found a 1988 Ford Ranger in the pond. Officers found an empty vodka bottle and drug items in the truck, according to a police report.

Officers spoke to Edward Tubb, 22, who had slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet. He later registered a .20 blood alcohol content, according to the report.

Tubb was arrested and the vehicle was towed.
