Rock Hill police called to domestic violence suspect barricaded in house

Police had to talk a domestic violence suspect reportedly armed with a gun out of a house on a residential street on Friday night.

Negotiators were called out when Niles “Nick” Chumley, 39, temporarily barricaded himself inside the home, according to Rock Hill Police spokesman Mark Bollinger.

Chumley faces domestic violence charges over the incident.

Around 6:30 p.m., officers were called to a home on the 800 block of Holdcroft Lane where they were told a man had a gun.

Police arrived at the home and called on Chumley to come out of the house, which he did about 15 minutes after the department’s negotiation team arrived on scene, Bollinger said.

Chumley was alone in the home during the standoff, Bollinger said.
