2 arrested with drugs in Rock Hill motel room, phone texts for ‘bags of candy’
Someone did not receive their “bag of candy” on Tuesday.
That was the request in a text message Rock Hill police found on the phone of two people arrested on multiple drug possession charges.
An anonymous phone call about a couple at a motel on Riverview Road led officers to find cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and heroin in the room.
Officers found Heather Nichole Rochester, 30, of Fort Mill, at the motel at 5:30 a.m. When they entered her room, officers found a bag of cocaine on a bedside table and marijuana on the bed laying beside a pipe, and a needle containing what was later determined to be heroin, according to a police report.
A short time later, Jason Daniel Cope, 35, of Lancaster also arrived at the motel and was detained along with Rochester.
Inside the bedside table, police also reportedly found a box of needles, another pipe, and a small box of apparent crystal meth. A BB pistol was also found under the pillow.
On Cope’s phone, the police also found multiple text messages asking to meet up, and whether Cope had “the product” or “bags of candy,” the report states.
In total, police recovered 3.64 grams of cocaine, .22 grams of marijuana, .16 grams of methamphetamine and an unspecified amount of heroin in a syringe. Both Cope and Rochester are charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and simple possession of meth and heroin, the report states. Cope was also charged with four counts of possessing marijuana.
