The man police say robbed a Rock Hill motel early Wednesday was staying at another motel nearby, according to Rock Hill Police.

James Green, 47, of Sunset Avenue in Fort Mill, was charged with armed robbery and drug charges, according to a police report. He was placed in the Rock Hill city jail, where he remained Thursday morning under $25,000 bond.

The robbery happened just before 6 a.m. Wednesday at the Days Inn on Riverview Road, police have said. The suspect entered the lobby of the motel and told the clerk he had a gun, although it was not shown. He jumped the counter, took cash and then fled on foot.
