York police still seeking suspects in fatal Christmas hit-and-run, Sunday double shooting
Police in York are still looking for the shooter who wounded two men Sunday. They also are seeking the driver in a fatal hit-and-run Christmas night.
No arrests have been made, but investigators are following leads in both cases, said Andy Robinson, York Police Department chief.
In the Sunday incident, two men were shot at a mobile home park off U.S. 321 around 1 a.m., officers said. One of the men was shot in the leg and the second in the neck, said Lt. Rich Caddell of the York Police Department detective division.
Both men were taken to hospitals for their injuries.
It is unclear why the men who did not live at the mobile home park were there, said Robinson.
In the Christmas night fatality, Anthony Shannon, 47, was walking along Railroad Avenue in York around 10 p.m. when he was struck and killed by a driver who fled.
Conditions were foggy that night, but it is unclear what role, if any, the weather played in the collision, said Robinson.
The S.C. Highway Patrol’s incident reconstruction team is assisting with the hit-and-run investigation.
Anyone with information in either crime can call York County Crimestoppers at 1-877-409-4321.
