Rock Hill woman claims she stabbed boyfriend in self-defense
A Rock Hill woman charged with stabbing her boyfriend in the torso Christmas Day said she did so in self-defense, according to Rock Hill Police.
Nikisha Da’Vonda Whitlock, 36, was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, according to jail records. She remained in the York County Detention Center on Monday under $40,000 bond.
Officers responded to a stabbing victim at a home on the 400 block of Hutchinson Street about 5 p.m. Friday, according to a police report. The victim said Whitlock stabbed him in the torso while he was at her home on Cauthen Street.
Whitlock told officers the victim came to her home without her permission and began “beating her in the face,” so she stabbed him “in self defense.”
Whitlock said she ran out of the house while the victim was still “beating on her,” and that he chased her as she ran down to Hutchinson Street, police said. She and the victim have been in a relationship for 17 months and used to live in the same home together.
The victim was taken to Piedmont Medical Center for his injuries, police said.
