Police: Heroin, meth found in Rock Hill motel room where woman was passed out
A woman found passed out in a Rock Hill motel room was arrested on drug distribution charges after officers found methamphetamine and heroin in the room, according to Rock Hill Police.
Maintenance staff at the Quality Inn and Suites on Cherry Road called police after they couldn’t wake an occupant at checkout time, according to a police report released Monday. Officers found 36-year-old Leslie Dawn Cooper of Blackstock inside the room.
Cooper was “severely intoxicated” and smelled of alcoholic beverage, police said. She gave officers permission to search the room. During the search, police say they found about .60 grams of heroin lying on the night stand in plain view and 1.68 grams of methamphetamine in a cigarette case.
Cooper was then placed under arrest, police said. They also found cash, a digital scale and several plastic bags commonly used for packaging and selling drugs, all of which were in her jacket.
Cooper was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, according to the report. She was placed in the Rock Hill city jail and released Thursday under $10,000 bond, according to jail records.
