Display of 250 cigarette lighters stolen from Lake Wylie store
Got a light? Two suspects in a theft at a Lake Wylie convenience store now have about 250 of them, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies on Dec. 26 responded to the Petro Express on Charlotte Highway in Lake Wylie, where two people stole a display of cigarette lighters on Christmas Day, according to a sheriff’s report made available Wednesday. The display had about 250 lighters on it, which were valued at about $525.
One suspect is described as black female, 5-foot-5 and weighing between 120 and 150 pounds, the report states. She is between the ages of 25 and 35, was wearing a yellow shirt and dark blue jeans and had a headband in her hair.
The other suspect is described as black male, 5-foot-8 and weighing between 170 and 210 pounds, deputies say. He is between the ages of 25 and 35, has dread locks about halfway down his back and was wearing a white T-shirt and dark blue jeans.
The thieves left in a two-door dark gray Ford Taurus traveling toward Clover, deputies say. The man was driving.
