Two women were arrested at a Rock Hill liquor store Saturday after one left the store with a bottle of alcohol in her pants and the other began cursing police, according to a Rock Hill police report.

Police were called to Albright Liquor Store, 202 S. Cherry Road, for a shoplifting complaint around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

They watched a surveillance video that showed a woman, later identified as 24-year-old Sherika Hamilton, concealing a bottle of alcohol in her pants, the report said. Hamilton also had assaulted an employee of the business, the report said.

Sherika Hamilton was charged in the theft and assault, the report said.

Another woman, 52-year-old Maria Hamilton, was told several times to leave the store and would not comply, the report said.

While Sherika Hamilton was being arrested, Maria Hamilton came into the store again and began cursing officers. Police tried to arrest her for hindering police and she began actively pulling away from officers.

Both women were taken to the Rock Hill Law Center, where Sherika Hamilton made several threats to a police sergeant, the report said. During the booking process, police found three oxycodone pills in Maria Hamilton’s back pocket, a report said.

Maria Hamilton was charged with resisting arrest and unlawful dispensing of prescription drugs. She was released Sunday under $75,000 bond.

Shericka Hamilton remained in the York County Detention Center Monday under $56,000 bond on charges of threatening the life of a public official, third-degree assault and battery and two counts of shoplifting.
