York police have obtained warrants for a second man in the Dec. 29 shooting that left a woman critically injured.

Warrants have been issued for D’Mario Mack, 26, of Clover, for shooting into an occupied dwelling and unlawful carrying of a weapon, according to a news release from York Police Chief Andy Robinson.

Mack is believed to be the second shooter in a Dec. 29 shooting that left a woman critically injured with a gunshot wound to the face, investigators say.

The shooting took place on California Street just west of the U.S. 321 Bypass, police have said. Dequater McCollough was shot while standing at the back door of her sister’s home on Ridgewood Lane – a cul-de-sac off Fine Wright Avenue.

Family members say they heard gunshots, and when McCollough went to the back door facing California Street, she was shot in the face.

She was rushed first to Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, then to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, family members have said said.

Aundraveious Laron McDowell, 21, the other man police say shot McCollough, is in jail without bond after being charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, according to jail records. He is a convicted felon who has been charged with attempted murder in a separate shooting, but he avoided prison in a plea bargain.
